Remove all dirt, loose particle, laitance from the surface with the help of emery stone paper, wire brush or putty- blade. Prior to application of Decotouch wall putty, it is very necessary that the surface should be properly wetted with clean water to ensure good adhesion besides better coverage and easy work ability.

Mix powder to water and not water to powder. Water to plaster ratio is (1 part water and 1.5 part of Gypsum Plaster to be maintained to provide good cohesive workable mix. Mix Gypsum Plaster to water by using electrical hand mixture rod to form uniform lump free paste, install the wooden strip / dhada or install the leveling strip in the area where the ready paste is to be applied. Apply the first coat approx. upto 8 mm to 10 mm of thickness, before the first coat sets rake and cross rake the surface. Fill in any hollow area, Level off and compact the surface, then apply the final finish coat. After complete drying for usually 72 hrs. (Depending on the thickness and humidity), the plain smooth leveled surface is ready for painting application.

Freshly mixed wall putty should be applied on moist surface in a thin layer with the help of a putty blade or steel trowel. It is essential that the application is done from bottom to upwardly direction with the putty blade or steel trowel. Allow the surface to dry for at least 3-4 hour and apply the second coat as mentioned above. After dry of the second coat allow it to dry for 3-4 days before the application of paint. If required, treated surface can be sanded with 320 no. sand stone paper before application of paint. Maximum 2-3 coats can be applied but the thickness of each coat should not be more then 1 mm. Generally, 1 to 1.5mm coating thickness is advisable for putty application.

During extremely hot weather application finished coat shall be cured by sprinkling of water for 1-2 days for best results. Do not apply thick coat (more than 1-1.5mm) in one go.
